Roundtable - NRSCH
Invitation to Western Australian Roundtable: Review of the National Regulatory System for Community Housing.
You may be aware that the Commonwealth and New South Wales Governments announced the review of the National Regulatory System for Community Housing (NRSCH) on 17 December 2018 with the release of a discussion paper.
The Review will assess whether the purpose and objectives of the NRSCH remain valid, taking into account recent policy and market changes. The Review will also identify options to update the NRSCH to support the future operation of the community housing sector and the introduction of the Affordable Housing Bond Aggregator, operated by the National Housing Finance and Investment Corporation.
All states and territories, except Victoria and WA, have adopted the NRSCH. Western Australia currently applies a policy-based regulatory framework that is consistent with the NRSCH. The Review will assess what changes to the NRSCH, or other options for a future national regulatory system, might be required to support any future decision for Victoria and Western Australia to join the NRSCH.
In addition to seeking written submissions to the discussion paper, each State and Territory will be hosting a roundtable for stakeholders. The roundtable provides an opportunity for Western Australian community housing providers to actively engage with the Review.
You are invited to attend the WA roundtable, which will be held:
Date: Tuesday, 5 March. Time: 9.00am - 1.00pm. Location: Level 2, 99 Plain Street, EAST PERTH.
Please advise any access or dietary requirements to this email by Monday, 18 February 2019. Please note places are limited and for this reason it is preferred only one representative per organisation attend. Further details on the workshop agenda and location will be provided soon.
