Shelter WA Training for Community Housing Providers

Shelter WA conducted a series of community housing capability workshops in May to gauge the training and development needs of the community housing sector. 

The workshops identified areas of critical need for training in the sector. The priority needs include: rental income management, tenancy management and managing contracts and head leasing. Training modules have been developed by Shelter WA to address these priority sector development needs. 

Rental Income Management – Tuesday 21 July, 9:30am – 12:00pm

This training module will focus on rental income management, including rent setting and rent reviews, in accordance with the latest Department of Housing Community Housing policies. 

This training course is now fully booked.

Tenancy Management - Wednesday 26 August, 9:00am – 4:00pm

This training module will focus on tenancy management and will incorporate organisations' rights and responsibilities under the RTA. This course will also address legal requirements, including essentials for court action and appearances.

Cost: $150.00 (Members) (excluding GST)
         $220.00 (Non Members) (excluding GST)

Contracts and head leasing (understanding and compliance) – Thursday 1 October

This training module will explore organisations' obligations under State Housing Authority contracts and head leasing arrangements to ensure understanding and ongoing compliance.
